Fees and Coverage

Our fees are straightforward so that you know what to expect before beginning therapy.

At PTSD Therapy, we offer several appointment lengths because not every stage of treatment requires the same amount of time. While many clients attend standard 60-minute sessions, some evidence-based trauma therapies or more intensive pieces of work benefit from a longer appointment.

During your assessment, we will discuss the treatment approach that best fits your symptoms and goals and recommend the appointment length that will best support your progress. Regardless of session length, therapy remains structured, purposeful, and focused on helping you move forward.

Which Appointment Length Is Right for Me?

60-Minute Session

$200

Standard psychotherapy appointment for most ongoing treatment.

This is our standard psychotherapy appointment and the session length most clients attend.

A 60-minute session provides enough time to review how things have been since we last met, work through the next step in therapy, develop practical skills, and plan for the week ahead. For many evidence-based therapies, this is the ideal appointment length and provides enough structure to make steady, meaningful progress without feeling rushed.

75-Minute Session

$250

Extended psychotherapy appointment.

Sometimes a little extra time is helpful.

An extended session may be recommended when we are working through more complex material, completing a structured therapy exercise that benefits from additional time, or when you would benefit from a slower pace to process what comes up during the session.

Not everyone requires an extended appointment. If we believe additional time would support your treatment, we will discuss this together.

Initial Assessment

90 minutes | $300

Your first appointment is a comprehensive assessment designed to help us understand your experiences, your current symptoms, and the ways trauma may be affecting your daily life, relationships, work, and overall wellbeing.

We will take time to discuss what has brought you to therapy, what you have already tried, and what you hope to achieve. You will also have the opportunity to ask questions about the therapy process and learn more about the different evidence-based treatment options we offer.

Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, the assessment helps us determine which treatment is most appropriate for your symptoms, goals, and circumstances. Together, we will develop a treatment plan and recommend the appointment length that best supports the work ahead.

90-Minute Session

$300

Intensive Psychotherapy appointment.

Some evidence-based trauma therapies are most effective when there is additional time available.

Longer appointments allow us to complete more intensive therapeutic work while still ensuring there is enough time at the end of the session for grounding, questions, and planning for the week ahead.

Ninety-minute appointments are often recommended for therapies such as Prolonged Exposure or in situations where a longer session best supports the treatment approach. During your assessment, we will determine whether this option is appropriate for your treatment goals.

As therapy progresses, the recommended appointment length may change depending on where you are in treatment and what will best support your continued progress.

Insurance Coverage and Payment

Services are provided by a Registered Social Worker and Psychotherapist in Ontario.

Many extended health benefit plans include coverage for psychotherapy provided by a Registered Social Worker (RSW). Because every insurance plan is different, we recommend checking with your provider before your first appointment to confirm your coverage.

Payment is securely processed through Jane using the credit card on file. Payment is due at the time of each session, and an electronic receipt will be provided for you to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.

Cancellation Policy

We understand that unexpected situations arise and that plans sometimes change.

If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, we ask that you provide at least 24 hours' notice whenever possible. Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice, or missed appointments, may be charged the full session fee.

Providing adequate notice allows us to offer that appointment time to another client who may be waiting for care. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Questions About Fees?

If you have questions about appointment lengths, fees, insurance coverage, or what to expect from therapy, we would be happy to answer them during your complimentary 20-minute consultation.

The consultation is also an opportunity to talk about what has been bringing you to therapy, learn more about our approach, and determine whether PTSD Therapy is the right fit for your needs. There is no obligation to move forward. Our goal is simply to help you make an informed decision about your care.

We provide structured, evidence-based treatment for PTSD, cumulative trauma, moral injury, medical trauma, and interpersonal trauma. Together, we will recommend the treatment approach and appointment schedule that best supports your goals.

Ready to Get Started?

If you are ready to take the next step, we invite you to book a complimentary 20-minute consultation.

There is no obligation to begin therapy after the consultation. The purpose is simply to help you decide whether my approach feels like the right fit for you.

We will answer your questions, discuss your goals, and help you determine whether our approach feels like the right fit for you. If we believe another service or provider would better meet your needs, we will tell you. Finding the right fit is an important part of the therapy process, and we want you to feel confident in whatever decision you make.
